MoM: The Concept

10/10/12, Wednesday Hello, APS lab members and B.A.D.A.S.S. alums! Welcome to the blog of the MONTH OF MAYHEM. As we discussed in lab meeting, the point of this exercise (the blog part) is to force myself, and to some extent everyone else, to scrutinize our time management, and publicly/honestly describe it, so that this time is as productive as we want it to be.

Groundrules:
 1) The MoM begins today and ends on Friday 11/9.
2) I will post each *evening* with my accomplishments for the day. (So expect a second post tonight.)
3) Everyone else should email, as discussed, on Fridays (using "reply all"), with weekly accomplishments.

 Goals:
During the MoM, I intend to accomplish the following things...
1) initiate at least four studies, including: the regulatory focus study (with Josh/Mollie), the pain study (with Alina), the image pretest (with Tracy), and Cyberball (with Erica). There'll be more, too.
2) work with Matt, Josh, Max, Johnny, Travis, Brendon, Quenton, and others to finalize their application lists, work on statements of purpose, and otherwise prepare for grad school apps.
3) Support/encourage students (at minimum Nathan and Erica, but also Quenton, Max, and on and on) to run, initiate, and/or analyze studies of their own.
4) finish work on three or more manuscripts (stress and national security; fraternity stereotyping revision, multiracial identity, and - data pending - drinks).
5) Get everyone who wants to go to SPSP on a study that will enable them to go to New Orleans (preconference).
6) Get everyone who doesn't get to SPSP onto a WPA poster, and help them get to Reno.
7) go to the doctor for shots and blood tests.
8) exercise reasonably, eat well, and SLEEP.

Anyway, the idea here is to, each day, record what I have done that day, and use the powers of pride and shame to motivate me to work efficiently and happily, to be as productive and stress-free as I can. Thanks for helping! Comment at will.
